A sixth generation Gullah/Geechee resident who resides in the Urbana Park Perry neighborhood in Glynn County, a “fenceline community” directly adjacent to a large Superfund site.

Josiah “Jazz” Watts

Born and raised on the Georgia Coast where he is a St Simons and Sapelo Island Descendant, Environmental Justice Strategist, Community Activist/ Organizer, a Coastal Community Health Board Member & Representative, a Georgia Commissioner with the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor, and original co-founder of the ‘I Run With Maud’ Movement that sought justice for the murder of his younger cousin Ahmaud Arbery.

A Program Coordinator with Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health and a resident of Brunswick. In her role, Kasey supports the Healthy Coastal Neighborhoods membership and works to strengthen community relationships, with a particular focus on local youth and educational organizations.
